The community of Porters Neck Plantation would like to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas! This is an important time of year meant to be spent with your loved ones. In this blog post, we’ll share with you some of our favorite Christmas traditions.

Family Volunteering

Christmas time especially, it’s important we give back to the communities we’re a part of. Check your community newspaper for local events and charities to take part in. Giving back to those who are less fortunate than ourselves can teach family members valuable lessons about the importance of charitable work.

Christmas Cookies

Cookies on Christmas aren’t just for Santa. Cooking cookies together as a family has been a long-running tradition in many of our homes! Find creative shapes and ways to decorate with these season treats. Then, have a tasting competition at the end to determine the winner for best tasting Christmas cookie!

Christmas Countdown

Next year, begin.a countdown for Christmas on December 1st using a number of fun countdown calendars meant for the 25 days leading up to and including Christmas Day.

White Elephant

A white elephant gift is a gift with little to no practical use. These are common throughout family Christmas celebrations. For instance, a proper white elephant gift would be a coffee mug or an inexpensive knick-knack.

Become a member of our community and celebrate Christmas with us in the coming year. At Porters Neck Plantation, we take pride in our gated community. For over 20 years, we have been Wilmington’s address for gracious living. The hospitality of our residents and first class country club experience sets Porters Neck Plantation apart from other communities in the Wilmington area.
