Eagle Point
Eagle Point golf course was named one of Golf Digest’s top 100 American links, and one visit will tell you why. Designed by renowned golf architect Tom Fazio in the late 1990s, the course itself is 7,259 yards surrounded by sabal palms, live oak trees, and the beautiful waters of Wilmington. On either side of the course you can view the shoreline and the Intracoastal Waterway, giving you the best of both worlds in one view. With a stunning lobby and clubhouse that welcomes members and visitors with its stone fireplace and vaulted ceilings, the Eagle Point Golf Course is a stunner both on and off the links.
Cape Fear National
Cape Fear National is another picturesque golf course near the Porters Neck community. Cape Fear has been the recipient of multiple awards including Top 10 Best Courses You Can Play in NC 2011-2012, Best Residential List 2011-2014, Best New Courses 2010, and #11 Best Courses You Can Play in NC 2013-2015 by Golfweek and Golf Magazine named Cape Fear National Top 10 Best New Courses 2010. As if that wasn’t enough, golf architect Tim Cate designed the course at Cape Fear National amid the beautiful North Carolina forest that provides stunning backdrops. He dotted the course with bridges crossing the natural wetlands and created waterfalls to add even more beauty. The course is a challenge for any level golfer and there is a pro shop, indoor and outdoor dining area, locker rooms and more in the clubhouse.
Porters Neck Country Club
We can’t mention golf courses near Porters Neck without mentioning our very own course, located at the country club. Tom Fazio also designed the Porters Neck Country Club course. The course is 18 holes and par 72 amid the Porters Neck homes and community of rolling hills. Porters Neck was awarded the title of #1 Coastal Golf Course in North Carolina by Golf Digest, making it another must see course. The course also offers professional staff who can offer training and tips, as well as social events, tournaments, clinics and lessons for all ages and levels.
